TABOR OPERA HOUSE COSTUME SALE The good folks at the Tabor Opera House in Leadville want us to know about a plan they’ve developed involving the wonderful costumes from their Highlights of The Ballad of Baby Doe production. For the last seven years Labor Day weekend performances have brought Horace Tabor’s own story brilliantly back to his own stage through Douglas Moore’s engaging music and John Latouche’s poetic words. Now our correspondent Debra Ayers writes us that they are reaching out to the Tabor’s supporters to see if anyone might sponsor purchasing the costumes for the Opera House. They are in excellent condition, having been used in only two-to-four performances each season. The entire costume collection is available for full sponsorship as a gift to the Tabor Opera House Museum. The same can be done with individual pieces. Or the entire collection, or individual pieces, can be purchased with the understanding that they be rentable for other worthy productions. Individual items or the entire collection may rather be purchased for other use. Ms Ayers says that she would like to complete the sale by the end of 2009. Should you have any interest in this generous and historic offer, you can contact Ms Ayers directly as follows: FOR SALE:
